Board structure
How corrugated cardboard types differ
The difference is not only overall thickness. Layer combinations and flute geometry affect rigidity, compression resistance, surface quality and print suitability.
Single-wall board
Two liners and one corrugated medium. A common option for shipping, storage and standard boxes.
Double-wall board
Two corrugated media and three liners. Used where greater rigidity and resistance to transport loads are needed.
Combined flutes
EB or BC profiles combine different flute properties. Final selection depends on the product, box dimensions and use.

Thicker board is not always better
Excess material increases weight and cost but does not automatically provide better protection. A suitable construction, insert or better product fixation may add more value.
